Frank Pember
1923—2005

By Jeff Taylor

Frank Pember, a 53-year Society member, was a wonderful Barbershopper, deeply devoted to the East York Chapter, and a committed and very capable baritone singer.  Frank was from the old school where barbershop singing was all about ear-work. He did have a great ear and a vocal reliability that lasted way past the point most men’s do.

He was also a real character, ever climbing ladders precariously to fix something at Harmony Hall that wasn’t to his liking, ever taking pictures and creating memory albums so that the life of that wonderful chapter would never be forgotten.

Frank, our turn to return the favour and see to it that YOU are never forgotten. Thanks for letting me be your director for a time and for the honour of knowing a man who knows the honour of keeping promises.  k
