Erie J. Wilson
1917—2005
By George Nicholson, St. Catharines Chapter
Erie Wilson passed away April 27, 2005. He is survived by his wife Ruth and five children and their families.
Erie worked as a dairy farmer and assessor until he retired in 1982. He was a member of the Fonthill United Church for 71 years. In the church choir, he formed a quartet, Niagara Jubilee, with Bill Honberger, Bill Laing and Bob Liang. This quartet became members of the St. Catharines Singing Saints and Erie maintained his membership for 28 years.
During his years with the Saints, Erie sang in The Lock Four Quartet for many years on the chapter’s shows, as well as throughout the peninsula. Recent health problems curtailed his activity, but he supported the Saints by attending their shows and socials.
Erie had the gift of love for his family, his faith and his music. He will be remembered by the Saints. k
