Friday and Saturday shows were highlights
By Chuck Alexander, Ontario District Executive Vice President
While Wylie Forster and I were only at Harmony College / Directors College at Ohio State University for the last two days, I personally enjoyed the classes I attended on Friday and Saturday. Needless to say, the Parade of Quartets on Friday night and the show on Saturday night were our highlights.
The Harmony College Chorus (of 34 men) did a nice job; the Directors College Chorus (of 73 men) was excellent; the New Generation Chorus (of 35 youth) blew us away with their whole routine including their presentation package in all of the songs.
What else can be said of The Alliance Chorus, straight back from their sixth place in Salt Lake City. And wow, Gotcha! showed why they were champs as they put on a package tribute to HC/DC.
Wylie and I were only able to attend one general session, what a session. Being taught the new arrangement of “Battle Hymn of the Republic” gave me goose bumps.
And what can be said of standing outside in front of the dorms singing tags and songs with fellow Barbershoppers until the early hours of the morning. WOW! k
