All Peninsula chapters at CanAm

The Peninsula Division was well represented at the fall convention by the Harbourtown Sound chorus, and quartets: Harbour Lights, No Choice, Forward Motion, 4 Tonight Only, Silver Threads, Vintage, and Quaternity. Congratulations to all these competitors.

All choruses were represented at CanAm Night held October 28. The Batavia Chapter hosted this.

Burlington Chapter

• Dec. 4–Charity sing out with the Simcoe Chapter.

• Dec. 13–Annual Christmas Party.

Grimsby Chapter

• Nov. 22–Installation of Officers.

• Dec. 2–Downtown Grimsby Carol Crawl.

• Dec. 11–Performance at Senior’s Christmas Party.

• Dec. 13–Sing out at Hospital and Deer Park Villa.

• Dec. 16–Christmas Party for members and wives.

• Dec. 20–Performance for Probus Club, Grimsby.

• Jan. 14–Ladies Night - Dining and Dancing.

Hamilton Chapter

• Oct. 14-15–Competed in fall convention and received a standing ovation for their performance.

• Nov. 4–Attended Dawg House Night hosted by KW.

• Nov. 9-13–Will help at the Harmony Inc. International Convention in Hamilton.

• Dec. 9–Annual Christmas Benefit Concert R.B.G..

• Dec. 16–Burlington Concert Band Xmas Show.

• Mar. 8, 2006–Will host the Peninsula Division contest.

Niagara Falls Chapter

• Oct. 8–Participated in the Vineland Arts and Crafts Festival.

• Nov. 5–Annual Show, Kingston College.

• Nov. 19–Niagara Falls Santa Claus Parade.

• Dec. 1–Performance for Meals On Wheels Banquet.

• Dec. 2–Niagara on the Lake Candlelight Walk.

• Dec. 4–Peninsula Division Charity Concert hosted by Simcoe.

• Dec. 10–Niagara on the Lake Santa Claus Parade.

Oakville Chapter

• Planning for a Holiday package for December.

• Looking for a director, moving forward under the direction of Stan Clark for the time being with the assistance of The Graytones.

• Jim Turnbull, 89, remembered for his rendition of “Old Wedding Ring” and a 42-year membership in the Society, hung up his pitch pipe for health reasons.

St. Catharines Chapter

• Nov. 22–Christmas Tree Lighting for Palliative Care Greater Niagara General Hospital.

• Dec. 2–Candlelight Walk Niagara on the Lake.

• Dec. 6–Senior Home sing outs, St.Catharines.

• Dec. 13–Sing out for retirees Lewiston NY.

• Dec.13–Senior Homes sing out, Niagara Falls.

• Dec. 20–Annual Fun Night.

Simcoe Chapter

• Oct. 14-15–Simcoe was the host for the fall convention.

• Oct. 25–Sing out Delhi United Church, 60th Anniversary.

• Dec. 4–Simcoe is hosting a Choral Celebration with members of the Peninsula Division. The event will be held at St. James United Church. Don Pyper is coordinating this event.

• Dec. 20–Carol Singing will be held in Simcoe, Port Dover, Delhi and Jarvis.

• Congratulations to Roger Wiens who ran a successful U Can Sing Too Program. Simcoe has signed 15 new members.

• Plans are underway to celebrate their 50th Anniversary in 2006. k
