Songfest 2006 —
another fantastic day

By John Odom

What a fantastic day this was for all Ontario Barbershopper’s. Another annual meeting of kindred spirits aptly named Songfest 2006. A day when all attending Barbershopper’s soak up a day long session of the joys and feelings in song and comradeship. Hearty handshakes and hugs to old friends and soul mates.

Listening and taking part in quartets and choruses and joining with the general group singing, the time we all treasure, singing and ringing those wonderful barbershop chords. The choruses and quartets were great, but too numerous to mention by name. We were all part of this great day and we were good. The day was further enriched by the available refreshments and the superb evening meal.

If you missed Songfest 2006, you missed one of the great Ontario Barbershop yearly events.

Our thanks go to Joe Daybell (Chairman), Robert Burrell, Al Davis, Laurie Hart, Jim Lyon, Ross Sutherland and  Willy Watt  for organizing this annual event. Known and supported by—Ontario’s Loyal and Devoted Fraternity of Active Retired Tonsorial Singers.     k

At each Songfest, there is a board displayed listing all of the members of the Ontario District who have been members of the Society
for 50 consecutive years or more.
When a member becomes eligible to have his name added,
he is presented a certificate and honoured by the Songfest committee.
