Barbershop Degree Program
launched with GREAT success

By Rob Arnold, Ontario District Executive Vice President

At the Ontario District convention in April, the Barbershop Harmony Degree Program was launched as promised in the last edition of the Trillium. The response to the program was fantastic as we awarded 103 Bachelors Degrees, 25 Masters Degrees and three Ph.D. Degrees.

The results of the program were very encouraging and the program will continue. Your next opportunity to apply for your degree will be at Chapter Operations Team Seminar in January and then again at the spring convention in April. By that time we hope to have the program available online.

If you have been awarded your degree pin please wear it at all district and chapter events and show your pride in what you have accomplished. Also encourage others to participate at COTS and at the spring convention as their efforts will be recognized as well.

Thanks to Rob Hopkins (Ph.D.) who has forwarded our program to the Society Board. As a result I have had many enquiries from other Society Board members and district presidents for a copy of the program we are running. The best part of the program for me was the opportunity to meet and talk with so many of you at the fall convention.    k
