President’s Council charter members

By J. R. Digger MacDougall, District Harmony Foundation chair

Long-time Ontario District Barbershopper, Mac Gordon, joined Sharon and Barrie Towner, Lise and Larry Martens  and Nancy and J. R.  Digger MacDougall in the President’s Council. These are the first charter members of Sing Canada Harmony President’s Council. Any Canadian Barbershop Society member can become a charter member of Sing Canada Harmony before December 31, 2007.

It was affirmed at Albuquerque that Canadian members of President’s Council and Founder’s Club would enjoy the same benefits and privileges as other members of these two organizations that are engaged in preserving and encouraging Barbershop Harmony across Canada and the USA. Members of President’s Council are entitled to VIP preferred seating at Midwinter and International conventions and several other VIP benefits and privileges.

Sing Canada Harmony currently offers Donor’s Choice provisions where the donor can request up to one third of a donation be directed toward another charity (some provisions apply).

Ontario District quartets and chapters are now joining other chapters and Can-Am districts in making gifts to Sing Canada Harmony.

The Ontario District Harmony Foundation chair will recommend to the District Management Team and the House of Delegates, adoption of a motion to change position titles to Vice President Sing Canada Harmony at the district and chapter levels and that job descriptions for these positions be published in the district constitution and bylaws.

Currently, the Sing Canada Harmony website is under construction. When completed, the website will provide links and details of information of interest to all Canadian Barbershoppers.             k
