Central Division choruses very busy

By Gerry Selkirk, Central Division Co-ordinator

East York Chapter A very active chapter within their area are pleased with their performance at the convention but felt that they could have done better but got some good tips from the judges and will work on these areas. They know how to welcome an outsider and make him feel welcome. I appreciate this, making my job much easier.

The MegaCity Chorus They are working hard for their show on May 5, 2007, and also working hard for their presentation at International and their trip to Russia. But at the same time are having a lot of fun working together as a group. Chris Arnold has them singing well and is always trying to get just a little bit more improvement and doing a great job. The chapter is having a good time and increasing their membership.

Newmarket Chapter They are having a lot of fun. A great group of guy’s always making fun of one another but in a friendly way and director Carol Appleton is doing a great job with their singing. They were not especially happy with their scoring at the convention but in sitting in with them at their session with the judge’s they found where they can improve and will be working on this. They had a guest night on May 9, 2007. Also a fun chapter to visit with great reception.

Etobicoke-Mississauga Chapter A small chapter but doing a great job within their area promoting barbershopping. They are known as a quartet chapter with no director but having six guy’s willing to take on a job of teaching a song and then directing the chorus at a sing out. The chorus has four quartets and are having the time of their lives. Good job by all.

Toronto Chapter This chapter enjoys their hobby and are working hard on their presentations for international and having fun. A great acquisition in having Jordon Travis join them as assistant director.     k
